Take or leave
Each food gets a score from take (green) to leave (red), with a short reason. Tips sit next to the number so you can still cook, order, or skip with your own judgement.
iPhone · iPad
Food scoring for cholesterol-aware eating.
A green-to-red scale for the next plate, not a clinic in your pocket. Search a food, scan a menu or a barcode, keep your own lab notes on the device. No TesLabs account.
Why it exists
Lipi favours less saturated fat and sugar, more oats, legumes, vegetables, nuts, olive oil, and oily fish. Green is not a licence to pour olive oil. Red is not a moral verdict. An exception can exist; a daily exception is not an exception.
Each food gets a score from take (green) to leave (red), with a short reason. Tips sit next to the number so you can still cook, order, or skip with your own judgement.
These are eating and lifestyle tips. Not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan, not medication advice. If your GP or dietitian says something else, follow them.
Name, date of birth, and lab figures stay in the app on your iPhone or iPad. TesLabs does not receive them. There is no login and no copy in a practice system.
What’s inside
Type a food. Lipi scores from its own catalogue, and can look up products in Open Food Facts and USDA FoodData Central when you need a brand or a barcode.
Photograph a menu. Recognition runs on the device. Lipi lists dishes and highlights a better choice. The photo is not sent to TesLabs.
Point the camera at a pack or a barcode. The lookup sends search text or a barcode — not the image — to the public nutrition databases above.
Rules of thumb per cuisine: what to order, what to skip, and a sentence you can say to the waiter (sauce on the side, grilled not fried, chips swapped for vegetables).
Cholesterol-aware lunch and dinner for one person, with time and a short method. The list can refresh from teslabs.app about once a day — recipes only, no lab values.
Do / don’t lines for how you cook: grill, steam, oven; sauce apart; butter and deep-fry called out. The plate still has to fill you — a side of vegetables is not a main.
Lab notes
You can store a first name, sex, date of birth, and readings such as total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides, glucose, and HbA1c — including whether the sample was fasting. Add a later reading to see a trend on this device.
Not a cholesterol tracker that measures blood. Not a laboratory. Not a medical device. We do not send values to a lab or a cloud, and we do not advise on medication.
Blood values change over weeks to months, not days. A check after about three months is a usual moment to review food, movement, and any medication — with your GP, not with the app.
Walking, cycling, sleep, smoking, and alcohol matter. Lipi says little about those on purpose: a person in a consulting room places them better than a scale in a phone.

Lipi is from TesLabs, an independent software studio. Not a clinic. If you lose the device, on-device notes go with it unless you keep your own backup. Real lab results and history belong with your GP.
